It's been sitting in my radio closet for a while now.unused. This radio is one of the first CRE 8900s to hit the market - I actually purchased it from a UK based radio distributor before the radio was even available in the USA. Will be shipped with its original box/packaging and manual/documentation. This radio looks great in modern vehicles and can be dash-mounted with a DIN adapter. The very fine tuning (10 Hz and 100 Hz steps) come in extremely handy when working SSB

This is a DIN-sized version of the AnyTone AT-5555 series (also known as the SS6900/Superstar 6900, Alpha 10 Max MA-1000, Maas DX5000, K-Po DX5000, Voyage BR-9000 and a dozen other models). The only thing it doesn't have is a Galaxy label on it.For sale is a lightly used CRE 8900 all-mode export radio. I may still buy a replacement stock mic for it though.

Triple 7's mic mod includes trimming down the RD's volume slide control and make it a internally adjustable. I'm going to hook up a modulation meter to it to see what kind of numbers I get,and to set up the RD to the radio. It's a lot quieter radio on receive than the DX-959 and has fairly good modulstion. It's a nice radio for the price and rock steady on frequency. Tap in to 13.8 volts that's on one of the radio's mic pins and use it to power the RD instead of it's battery and replace the red case(Triple 7's mod)with a chrome one I bought from DNJ. A 1K resistor will go between the audio and the ground in the RD mic. When I get the Road Devil mic I'll wire it up to the 6 pin mic plug. I want to be cautious and not blow out a trace like CBRadioMagazine did with his 8900. I just got the mic adapters in today to run my 2018 mic on along with a 6 pin RCI jack that's not wired for a 8900.
